Get ready for the inaugural Gator Glow Throw benefiting Louisiana Special Olympics.
Registration is underway for the St. Amant High School fundraiser that will feature a 3.1-mile route with lots of color. As runners go through the course, they will be doused with a colored powder.
The run is set for 8 a.m. Jan. 30 at the Lamar-Dixon Expo Center.
The Gator Glow Throw is a joint effort by St. Amant High School’s Student Council and the Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Office to help raise money for Louisiana Special Olympics.
The school created a new discount for friends of the school and other area high schools. To receive $2 off each registration fee, enter a code for the high school you are representing when completing the online registration. The codes are: STApride, EApride, Dtownpride, and Dvillepride.
Early registration ends Jan. 17 and the cost if $25. Registration after that date will cost $30.
Runners must register before Jan. 17 to get an event T-shirt.
In addition to the Gator Glow Throw, St. Amant students will be accepting donations to help raise money for Special Olympics.
