Landry’s Pharmacy hosted a book-signing June 4 featuring local resident Shannon M. Braud.
Braud signed copies of her book, “A Date to Die: And An Unexpected Choice to Live,” and talked about her mission to “get the word out about mental illness and suicide,” a news release said.
“These are two subjects that people refrain from talking about, yet they greatly affect our society,” Braud said.
“It means a lot that we could be involved with this event,” Landry’s owner Buzzy Landry said. “Shannon’s courage and willingness to tell her story has the potential to help many individuals see that they are not alone.”
In September, Braud will conduct a panel discussion on suicide at the Goodwood Library in Baton Rouge.
