St. Amant High School's Class of 2019 will graduate at 7 p.m. Friday, May 17 at the school's football stadium.
Leading the class as valedictorian will be Matthew Andermann Parker, son of Darren and Vicki Parker. He has maintained a 4.90 GPA while working through advanced placement and honors courses through school. He has received numerous academic and honors awards throughout the years.
Parker was a member of the boys soccer and football teams. He was the 2017 Offensive MVP Varsity Boys Soccer. He was 2017 Second Team All District Soccer, 2018 First Team All District Soccer, 2019 Honorable Mention All District Football, and 2018-2019 All Academic Boys Composite Football Team and All Academic Boys Composite Soccer Team.
He will be attending LSU and plans to pursue a degree in environmental engineering and double major in electrical engineering.
Caylee Marie Collier, daughter of David and Chantelle Collier, has maintained a 4.83 GPA throughout high school, which she achieved through taking all honors, dual enrollment and advanced placement classes. She has passed four AP exams and one CLEP exam. Collier has been acknowledged as an AP Scholar by College Board. Collier took five semesters of Spanish, and upon completion, she was rewarded as an outstanding Spanish student.
She was a member of Fellowship of Christian Students and Mu Alpha Theta, National Mathematics Honor Society, and she finished in 14th place at the Mu Alpha Theta State Convention for her Individual Integration Area Test for Calculus AB.
She will be attending Louisiana Tech University with an Outstanding Student Scholarship. She is going to major in chemical engineering.
