Ascension Parish Deputies Wendell Crawford, Carson Fee, Eugene Ferguson, Austin Gautreau, Patrick Landry, Paul McCrory and Trey Richard graduated from the Capital Area Regional Training Academy in Baton Rouge on July 7.

The graduation was at Healing Place Church in Baton Rouge.

Ferguson was class president, and McCrory was vice president.

CARTA is a program of the East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff’s Office. This year, there were 43 graduates representing 15 agencies from across the state. Graduates learned physical training; legal and report writing skills; law enforcement history; and other topics and skills.

“This graduation represents 11 weeks of hard work and resulted in all of these deputies attaining their POST certification,” Sheriff Jeff Wiley said.
