Cat Island visit

Cat Island National Wildlife Refuge and the Friends of Cat Island are hosting a three-hour bus tour of the refuge Nov. 11. Visitors can bird watch, explore trails, photograph wildlife and enjoy the wetlands. The bus will leave from the Bank of St. Francisville at 8:30 a.m. and drop visitors at the Big Cypress Tree Trail. It will leave the trail's parking lot at noon to return to the bank. Space is limited for the free trip. Reserve a spot by calling (601) 442-6696.

Blood drive

Anvil Attachments, in Slaughter, will host its fall blood drive from 1 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 26, in front of its facility at 261 La. 19. This is the 10th year the business has participated with United Blood Services. Anyone in the area is welcomed to stop by and help meet the critical need for blood.
