Summer camp

The West Feliciana Sports Park will host 11 weeks of summer camp for children ages 6-12 starting May 21. 

Space is limited. Hours are 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, with late pickup available until 6 p.m. Price is $150 a week per child or daily registration of $40 with a maximum of five walk-ins. Lunch is not provided. Activities include arts and crafts, swimming, science experiments, zoo and water park trips and more.

Dawson banquet

The John S. Dawson Alumni Association and Foundation holds its eighth annual Fellowship Banquet at 6:30 p.m.Saturday, at Hemingbough, 10101 La. 965, St. Francisville. Lip Sync Battle

West Feliciana Parish Parks and Recreation will hold a Lip Sync Battle at 7:30 p.m., April 21 at the Sports Park. Admission is $2. The event benefits the Royal Blue Club and Volunteer Response and Recovery. Call (225) 784-8447 for registration or details.

Quad Area Head Start enrolling

Quad Area Head Start is a free preschool program that serves preschoolers ages 3 and 4 in East Feliciana Parish.

Classes are in Clinton, 3585 La. 63–Bluff Creek Road, (225) 683-4234; and Jackson, 3531 Cottage St., (225) 634-2813.

Quad Area Head Start will hold recruitment activities through May. Applications may be found at Quad Area Community Action Agency at 12119 St. Helena St., both Head Start centers and Audubon Regional Library branches in Clinton and Jackson.

Golf benefit

Blues and guitars

The Kenny Neal Family & Friends Blues Highway 61 Music Festival is May 18-20 at the West Feliciana Sports Park. Admission is $10 a vehicle. 

Arts an crafts, carnival rides, food, a classic car show will be available in addition to rhythm and blues, Southern soul, zydeco and gospel music.

Also, 16 guitars will be given away at the event through "Kids Rock the Nation." Children ages 9 to 16 are eligible. Parents can submit a 3-inch by 5-inch postcard with the child's first and last name, date of birth, age, phone number, email address, school name, city, state, ZIP code and parent's contact information. Children get one entry by mail-in.

Children in attendance can register for a second entry, or children can volunteer at the event for 10 more entries. Arrangements to volunteer must be made by Sunday. WF Saints tryouts  

The West Feliciana Saints Football and Cheerleading will have its registration from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. April 28 under the pavilion at the West Feliciana Sports Park.

Four age divisions are available: A for ages 11-12, B for 9-10, C for 7-8, F for ages 5-6. Visit leaguelineup.com/westfelsaints.
