More than 600 American flags will be distributed at local Veterans day ceremonies thanks to a donation from Sheriff Jeff Travis.

The Alexander Stirling Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution thanked Travis for donating the flags. Most of the flags will be used during Veterans Day ceremonies around East Feliciana Parish.

Programs are planned for:

Dawson Cemetery, in Jackson, 9 a.m., Nov. 5

Jackson Cemetery, 3 p.m., Nov. 5

Louisiana Veterans Home, 10 a.m., Nov. 8

Hillcrest Cemetery, Norwood, 10 a.m., Nov. 9

Masonic Cemetery, Clinton, 2 p.m., Nov. 12.

Redwood Cemetery, Slaughter, 2 p.m., Nov. 12

Other cemeteries that will have informal placing of flags on the graves of veterans are F.T. Baptist, McQueen, Second Baptist, Rosehill and Wilson.
