State Fire Marshal H. “Butch” Browning has rescinded the March 25 burn ban effective April 23.

The fire marshal started the ban as the stay-at-home orders began to keep people from using fires as a way to pass the time.

Browning said at the time, “This order will assist in preventing potential fire-related dangers that could result in unnecessary fire service response as well as diminish airborne irritants caused by burning.”
