The town of Wilson is hosting a Mardi Gras parade on Fat Tuesday beginning at 11 a.m., and everyone is invited.
All floats, marching groups, trucks, cars and other entries are welcome; there is no fee to participate. However, those planning to participate must provide their own throws and arrive by 10 a.m. to be placed in the lineup on Carruth Road.
The parade will proceed along Carruth Road to La. 19, head south to Sycamore Street, proceed to La. 68 and turn left, then right onto Virginia Street and proceed to Sycamore, where the procession will disperse.
Arts, crafts and food vendors are welcome, but a fee of $25 will be assessed.
The Dixon Correctional Institute band will perform in front of Wilson Town Hall from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
