Jonathan “J.T.” Taylor, assistant director of the Livingston Parish Convention and Visitors Bureau, graduated from the Louisiana Tourism Leadership Academy at the association’s recent 2016 Annual Membership Meeting in Lake Charles.

Representatives from the Louisiana Travel Promotion Association and Lt. Gov. Billy Nungesser joined in celebrating the graduation of the 19-member class.

The inaugural LTLA class spent 2015 developing leadership skills while learning from seasoned professionals from throughout the tourism industry.

The goal of the program is to equip each class member with knowledge and skills that will enrich their tourism-related organizations, therefore strengthening the statewide tourism industry, a news release said.

“I’m excited to graduate as part of the first class of tourism leaders participating in the Louisiana Tourism Leadership Academy,” Taylor said. “I learned so much from established leaders in the tourism industry and look forward to using their expertise to better myself and organization.”

LTPA is a trade association “leading and strengthening Louisiana’s vibrant tourism industry through promotion, education and advocacy” on behalf of its members, the release said.
