Tangipahoa Parish girls are invited to join an existing Girl Scout troop or form a new one, according to a news release.
“Girl Scouts gives a girl motivation, confidence and a safe, fun environment where she can learn, grow and be herself,” Girl Scout volunteer Kelly Day said. Day leads a multi-age level troop in Ponchatoula.
Girl Scouting works to build girls of courage, confidence and character who make the world a better place, the release said. Activities include camping, health and fitness, the arts, science and technology, travel, cookie-selling and more, the release said.
Program levels are Daisies, kindergarten through first grade; Brownies, grades 2-3; Juniors, grades 4-5; Cadettes, grades 6-8; Seniors, grades 9-10; and Ambassadors, grades 11-12.
Membership is $15 per year, and no girl is denied membership for financial reasons. Visit gsle.org for more information.
