Residents can dispose of bulky wood waste, old building materials, furniture, trash and paper at two open dumpsters at city hall, 10136 Florida Blvd., and at Sibley Hutchinson Park by Field 5.

Graduate receives medal
Lauren R. O’Neal, a native of Walker, was one of 43 graduating seniors in LSU’s spring 2015 class to receive the University Medal during a ceremony on May 14 in the LSU Union Theater.
The event was held as part of the university’s 286th commencement exercises. The medalists also were recognized during the main commencement ceremony later that evening in the Pete Maravich Assembly Center.
O’Neal, who majored in accounting, received a bachelor of science degree from the E.J. Ourso College of Business.
The University Medal is awarded to those undergraduates who finish with the highest grade-point averages in each LSU graduating class.
Exercise for Seniors
The Livingston Parish Library’s Denham Springs-Walker branch, 8101 U.S. 190, Denham Springs, is hosting an Exercise for Seniors program at 10 a.m. Friday for anyone 18 and older.
A certified physical therapist will lead a workout.

Teens are invited to take part in the Livingston Parish Library’s Denham Springs-Walker branch’s Teen Advisory Board meeting at 6 p.m. May 26.
Teen Advisory Board members can suggest new programs, volunteer at the branch and help choose books for the library’s young adult sections.
