Hammond Westside Montessori's robotics team, the Whirlbots, had its best showing, in a competition May 11 at the National WWII Museum in New Orleans.

Students were able to articulate answers to questions and able to explain how they collect data and for what purposes, leading Mega-Hurtz to a first place in the project portion of the competition.

Next season, is students will have civil engineering related challenges with the release of Lego’s “City Shaper” mat in August.
