The Broadmoor High School team TopC-TurV received top honors at the fifth Trust Your Crazy Idea Challenge at Baton Rouge Community College’s Magnolia Theater.

Team members Meshaun Stewart, Lutfi Abuhajah and John Nash moved on to competition against teams from Lafayette, New Orleans and Shreveport during New Orleans Entrepreneurs Week 2018 in late March.

Woodlawn High School’s Code Red and Cosmic Reformers teams were runners-up in the competition. Code Red members were Lance Cummings, Jervar Napoleon, Tyler Lewis and Emelee King. Cosmic Reformers members were Jaida Joseph, Montrelé Jackson and Keil Scott.

Presented by the Brees Dream Foundation and Junior Achievement of Greater Baton Rouge and Acadiana, the event gives students an opportunity to pitch their ideas to a panel of local entrepreneurs. The students competed for scholarships provided by the Brees Dream Foundation, founded by New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees.

Participating students in the greater Baton Rouge area completed Junior Achievement’s “It’s My Business!” curriculum, which emphasized entrepreneurial skills and critical thinking.
