More than 1,300 students received their degrees from Northern Illinois University in December. Included among the graduates was Isabelle Schexnayder, of Baton Rouge, who earned a Master of Science in Nutrition and Dietetics.

Northern Illinois University is a student-centered, nationally recognized public research university, according to a news release. Through its main campus in DeKalb, Illinois, and education centers for students and working professionals in Chicago, Hoffman Estates, Naperville, Oregon and Rockford, the university offers more than 100 courses of study while serving a diverse and international student body of about 19,000.
