Forum 35 held its Community Impact Breakfast for Baton Rouge leaders and community members Nov. 14 at Boudreaux’s Catering Hall. The focus was on the organization’s vision for the city and priorities for the future.

Those in attendance included more than 100 representatives from various Baton Rouge institutions, nonprofit organizations and businesses, according to a news release. Forum 35 President Mathew Laborde and Development Director Blake Fowler gave presentations and guest speakers included Baton Rouge Area Chamber President and CEO Adam Knapp, Baton Rouge Area Foundation President and CEO John Davies, Home Bank Vice President Brandon Kelly and Erin Monroe Wesley, special counsel at the Office of Gov. John Bel Edwards.

An award ceremony was held during the event in honor of Fairleigh Cook Jackson, of Preserve Louisiana, Baton Rouge Original Award for her service with area and statewide nonprofits; Melissa Parmelee, of National Audubon Society, Original Young Professional Award for her involvement with Forum 35 and other Baton Rouge nonprofits; and Water Institute of the Gulf, Corporate Partner of the Year Award for involvement in Forum 35’s service initiatives and contributing to the community.

Forum 35 is a nonprofit, all-volunteer organization of young men and women from the community working to improve Baton Rouge.
