Casas for CASA generates awareness and money to support CASA’s advocacy efforts for abused and neglected children, a news release said.

The Mall of Louisiana was transformed into a festive party scene for the CASA Fiesta, which featured a silent auction, music by the Better Than Nobody band, margaritas and Mexican cuisine provided by Caliente Mexican Craving, Izzo’s Illegal Burrito and Zippy’s.

Desserts were provided by Auntie Anne’s Pretzels, Caliente Mexican Craving, Chick-fil-A and Nothing Bundt Cakes. Centerpieces were donated by Billy Heroman’s Flowerland.

The 2014 CASA playhouse, valued at nearly $17,000, will be on display through Aug. 17 in the downstairs center court of the mall. Raffle tickets are $5 each and are available at the mall, the CASA office, 848 Louisiana Ave. or online at

Raising Cane’s at the Mall of Louisiana will offer a free drink coupon for every raffle ticket purchased at the mall. CASA will deliver the playhouse to the winner within 60 miles of the Mall of Louisiana.

CASA Kids Day, a children’s safety fair, will conclude the event from noon to 5 p.m. Aug. 17 at the Mall of Louisiana. Free services and safety demonstrations will be available along with entertainment and activities for children.
