St. Michael holds Warrior awards _lowres

The 2014 Warrior Awards Banquet was May 29 at Ashley Manor to honor supporters for their contributions to the St. Michael School family.

Troy Matthews, class of 1990, was given the Alumnus of the Year Award. Matthews volunteers for SMHS events, fundraisers and other organizations.

The co-recipients of the Warrior Sword Award are former St. Michael Principal Myra Patureau and St. Michael parent Fred Crifasi.

To earn the honor, the recipient must exemplify basic Christian values through his/her deeds and in the spirit of goodwill, must be a model for students to emulate, must serve the local community and must support the school’s ideals, a news release from the school said.

Also recognized with a place on the St. Michael Wall of Honor are former St. Michael athletes Matt Nathanson, class of 2002, and Grace Ann Nathanson Ourso, 2003.

St. Michael cross-country coach Neil Borel spoke at the ceremony, acknowledging the accomplishments of the two athletes during their high school careers.
