Destroyed by a fire in March, the historic Carriage House Restaurant at the Myrtles Plantation, 7747 La. 61, St. Francisville, is being rebranded and redefined by executive chef Sean Rivera.

This fall, the 41-year-old plans to open a new concept with 100 seats and an open wood-fire grill. He's working with the LSU Agricultural Center and Slow Foods Baton Rouge to establish a market on 6 acres in addition to the restaurant.

The menu will feature house-made charcuterie boards and seasonal menus based on Louisiana game and produce.

"The goal is to make it a boutique, gastronomic destination," Rivera says.
