Let’s face it: Who can afford to get a gift wrong in this day and age?

This year, why not give a few well-intentioned gift hints and tips so you know your Valentine’s Day money and shopping time will be well-spent?

Whether you’re walking past a department store window, watching a commercial on TV, reading a fashion magazine or hearing about a great new restaurant on the radio, the opportunities for pointing out a few great gift suggestions are endless.

It’s no secret that in today’s social media-savvy world, liking a product also can mean “liking” a product for all your friends to see.

So, hit up your favorite social media site, a few of your favorite blogs or stores and get down to a little cyberhinting. There are even a few inspirational websites that are dedicated to sharing online wish lists.

Lazard Temple banquet

Dollars for Scholars

There will be a Louisiana Office of Student Financial Assistant seminar on Tuesday, Feb. 24, at 9:30 a.m. at St. Helena College and Career Academy.

Representatives will be on hand to talk about the different types of financial aid options that are available to help pay for college education.

During the seminar, you also can receive assistance with filling out FASFA forms and engage in open discussion about the loan debts students suffer from because they do not understand the difference between private and personal loans.
