Food Addicts Anonymous is a weekly support group that provides fellowship for men and women trying to recover from the disease of food addiction.

This free, 12-step program is held from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. every Thursday in the West Wing Conference Room at Lane Regional Medical Center, 6300 Main St. in Zachary.

The group also meets on Tuesdays from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at the West Feliciana Parish Library, Room B, 5114 Burnett Road in St. Francisville.

All are welcome to attend.

FAA is self-supporting. There are no dues or fees required for membership — only a desire to stop eating addictive foods. FAA is not affiliated with any diet or weight-loss programs, treatment facilities or religious organizations.

Prayer breakfast for women

A Ladies Ecumenical Prayer Breakfast will begin at 8:30 a.m. Saturday at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church, 11485 Ferdinand St.

This prayer breakfast has been held for several years in St. Francisville. The Baptist, Catholic, Episcopal and Methodist churches take turns hosting the event.

All women are invited to attend the quarterly breakfast to be held in the church hall.

Community Market Day set

From 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, St. Francisville Main Street and Arts for All are hosting Community Market Day at Parker Park.

Local artists, craftsmen, farmers and anyone with homemade baked goods, handcrafted items or antique/vintage furniture are invited to participate. Vendors are asked to bring their own booth setups and items for sale.

This is a great opportunity for St. Francisville to show off its local talent on the third Saturday of each month.

30th class reunion meeting

Organizers from West Feliciana High School’s Class of 1986 are organizing a 30th reunion. A planning meeting is set for 1 p.m. Saturday at St. Francisville Town Hall, 11936 Ferdinand St.

If you or someone you know graduated from WFHS in 1986, encourage them to attend the meeting to share ideas with fellow alumni about the school’s upcoming reunion.

Becoming Jane Austen

Audubon State Historic Site, 11788 La. 965, in St. Francisville, will host an exclusive event for young ladies throughout West Feliciana Parish.

“Becoming Jane Austen: School for Young Ladies” is set for 9 a.m. to noon July 31 and will step back into the early 19th century to experience life for young ladies in 1821.

Featured activities include speaking with a fan, etiquette, a tea, sewing, spinning, weaving and making bath salts that you can take home.

Cost to attend is $30 per person and includes entry into the park.

This program is limited to 20 participants, ages 8 and older. Preregister by July 22.
