The YMCA of the Capital Area hosted its 10th annual YMCA Beyond the Green Golf Tournament on Oct. 2 at Beaver Creek Golf Course in Zachary.

First place teams were Spectrum Employee Services in gross points and CSRS in net points. Nick Casteel’s hole-in-one made him the winner of an Adventure Cruise.

This year’s tournament hosted more than 100 golfers and raised $53,841 for the YMCA’s Community Initiatives and the Y’s response to the pandemic. Funds will help the Y provide social services for the most vulnerable members of the community, including efforts to impact food insecurity, enhance disease prevention programming to reduce health disparities, offer child care for working families when schools returned to remote learning, address learning loss and the achievement gap for kids from low-income families, and provide scholarship support for families.
