Zachary Chamber Shop Local cards are available, and for every $10 you spend pre-tax at any of the participating merchants in Zachary, the card will be stamped. Once the card reaches $100, turn it in at the Zachary Chamber of Commerce, 4633 Main St., for a chance to win $500, $300 or $150 in gift cards redeemable at participating stores.
Types of participating businesses include antiques, audio, clothing boutiques, car care, electronics, floral, food and restaurants, gifts, hardware, home decor, home improvement, salons and spas.
Unlimited entries allowed, but each transaction or card has a $100 limit.
Drawings will be held during the Christmas in the Village celebration Dec. 11.
Metro 1 Christmas meeting
East Baton Rouge Metro Councilman Trae Welch invites residents of District 1 to attend the upcoming Christmas Metro 1 meeting at 6:30 p.m. Dec. 1 at the Chaneyville Community Center, 13211 Jackson Road, Zachary.
The meeting will be a traditional pot luck gathering, and residents are asked to bring a dish and enjoy fellowship with others from their community.
The meeting rotates month to month throughout District 1, which includes northern EBRP, the cities of Baker and Zachary, the northern part of Central and the areas of Alsen, Chaneyville, Port Hudson and Pride.
Chamber gift exchange set
The Zachary Chamber of Commerce invites members and guests to a fun and festive Lunch and Learn event Dec. 2. at the Americana YMCA, 4200 Liberty Way, Zachary.
Networking begins at 11:30 a.m. followed by a catered lunch and gift exchange from noon until 1 p.m.
Everyone must bring a $20 gift. Cost to attend is $15 for Chamber members and $20 for guests.
The Copper Mill Golf Club will cater the lunch.

Breakfast with Santa sold out
The Zachary Charity League’s Breakfast with Santa, scheduled for Dec. 5 at the Train Depot, is sold out.
As a reminder, children and parents with tickets are urged to bring a canned good for the Zachary Food Pantry.
Activity stations, photos with Santa and a breakfast of doughnuts, milk and juice for youths only will be featured at the event.

Christmas services planned
Zachary’s First Baptist Church, 4200 Main St., invites everyone to a spirit of Christmas worship experience beginning at 4 p.m. Dec. 5 and 6 p.m. Dec. 6. Arrive early for the best parking and seats, as this worship service is general seating, free and welcomes all.
Limited childcare will be provided.

#LandonStrong blood drive
United Blood Services will have its blood mobile parked in the Zachary Fire Department parking lot at 4525 Main St. from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. Dec. 7.
For each person who donates blood, UBS will donate $15 toward Landon Blackwell’s medical account at St. Jude Children’s Hospital in Memphis.
Landon, 8, is the son of Carl and Charlee Blackwell and a second-grader at Rollins Place Elementary School. He was recently diagnosed with neuroblastoma, a form of cancer, and is undergoing treatment.
Family members ask the community to keep them in your prayers.
