A 36-year-old Baton Rouge man has been charged in the August rape of a drunken woman in her home.
An East Baton Rouge Parish grand jury indicted Jeremy Jones, of 14405 Jamestown Blvd., on a third-degree rape charge Wednesday.
Baton Rouge police say Jones was asked to leave the woman's home by a relative of the victim but returned without her consent and assaulted her. A police report alleges he had sex with her while she was in a "drunken stupor."

Jones continuously denied knowing how drunk the woman was during the incident, the report states. He did not deny having sex with her but said he did not hurt her, the report adds.
Jones called the woman later that day and told her what had happened, police said. The victim said she had no recollection of the act, according to the report.
The case has been assigned to state District Judge Richard Anderson.
