BR man, 18, charged in nonfatal shooting
Authorities arrested an 18-year-old man Monday in the July 1 nonfatal shooting of a man at a South Sherwood Forest Boulevard apartment, according to an arrest warrant.
The victim was shot once in the head and left for dead in the apartment at 4888 S. Sherwood Forest Blvd., the warrant says.
The victim told authorities Ameer Roston Laymon and another man, Sari Abu-Sada, came to the apartment and began arguing with him, the warrant says.
Abu-Sada then shot the victim once in the head, the warrant says.
Laymon, 18, 671 Kenilworth Parkway, was booked into Parish Prison on one count of principal to attempted second-degree murder.
Abu-Sada, 20, was arrested Feb. 1 and booked into Parish Prison on one count of attempted second-degree murder.
Police book driver on DWI, drug counts
Authorities arrested at least one person suspected of driving while intoxicated in East Baton Rouge Parish between 2:30 p.m. Sunday and 2:30 p.m. Sunday, booking records show.
Addie Pitre, 21, 710 Camp St., Hattiesburg, Miss., was booked into Parish Prison on one count each of first-offense DWI, reckless operation of a vehicle, driver’s license not in possession, obstruction of an intersection and possession of marijuana.
