Lafayette man accused of sex with juvenile

A 40-year-old Lafayette man accused of having sex with a 15-year-old girl in January and February has been arrested.

The teen’s mother called Baton Rouge police in March, suspecting her daughter was having sex with a much older man, the arrest affidavit says.

The mother showed police text messages between the two that indicated the girl is pregnant and that they did have sex with each other, the affidavit says.

When police interviewed the teen, she told them she met Jesse Citizen on a smartphone app called “Tagged,” the affidavit says. She said he introduced himself as 23 years old and told her “age is just a number.”

She said they had sex at least twice, in January and February, including when he took her to his Lafayette apartment for three days without her mother knowing, the affidavit says.

Citizen, 202 Belfast St., Apt. A, Lafayette, was booked into Parish Prison on counts of computer-aided solicitation of a minor, carnal knowledge of a juvenile and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
