Less than two hours into the new year, a 29-year-old man was shot dead in the 2600 block of Balis Drive in Baton Rouge, according to police.
Trenity Grimes, of 4685 Bawell St., was found shot multiple times around 1:45 a.m. on New Year's Day, said Baton Rouge Police spokesman Sgt. Don Coppola Jr.
Grimes died at the scene, Coppola said.
Investigators believe the shooting was a result of a fight.
There are no known suspects at this time, Coppola said.
