Police: Man punched woman holding infant
Baton Rouge police on Sunday arrested a man accused of repeatedly punching a woman in the face while she was holding her infant child.
Frank Beauchamp, 50, punched the victim several times and threw her to the ground, police said. He also “promised” to shoot her the next time he sees her, the report says.
Beauchamp, 5788 D’Juanna Drive, Baton Rouge, was booked Sunday into Parish Prison on counts of cruelty to juveniles, simple battery and simple assault.
His bail was set at $8,000, booking records show.
Deputies arrest man, teen in car burglaries
East Baton Rouge Parish sheriff’s deputies on Saturday arrested a man and a teen accused of burglarizing several vehicles in northeast Baton Rouge.
Donald Pittman, 22, and the teen broke into several vehicles in the 10200 and 10300 blocks of La Jolla Court, according to an arrest report. Deputies found the pair carrying a bag that included stolen cologne, sunglasses, cigarettes and applesauce, the report says.
They broke into at least five vehicles, one of which they were caught on surveillance tape trying to steal, deputies said. When deputies confronted the pair, Pittman told them, “I was looking for my girlfriend, but she was not home,” authorities said.
Pittman, 37314 Greenwell Springs Road, Baton Rouge, and the teen were booked Saturday into Parish Prison on counts of burglary of a vehicle, theft, attempted vehicle theft and simple burglary.
Five suspected of driving while intoxicated
Authorities arrested at least five people suspected of driving while intoxicated in East Baton Rouge Parish and booked them into Parish Prison between 2:30 p.m. Saturday and 2:30 p.m. Sunday, booking records show.
Those booked and the counts against them:
Louvenia Allen, 22, 7636 Penhill Drive, Baton Rouge, third-offense DWI, reckless operation of vehicle and hit-and-run.
Logan Hamilton, 20, 2293 Hollydale Ave., Baton Rouge, first-offense DWI, reckless operation of vehicle and driver’s license suspended or revoked.
Joshua Irving, 20, 60416 Nature Trail Drive, Baton Rouge, first-offense DWI, failure to yield at stop sign, drinking in motor vehicle, speeding and disobeying red light.
Raymon Johnson, 31, 2730 Lorraine St., Baton Rouge, first-offense DWI and failure to maintain control.
Thomas Sterling, 23, 4816 La. 68, Jackson, first-offense DWI and failure to maintain control.
