A man Baton Rouge Police say was under the influence of an unknown substance died after behaving erratically at a Wingstop, authorities said.
Officers arrived at the Wingstop on Florida Blvd. Wednesday afternoon around 2:47 p.m. where they found a man behaving erratically, prompting employees to run away, according to BRPD Sgt. Don Coppola.
The man was partially clothed and had ransacked the business, Coppola said.
Officers detained the individual, who "appeared to be under the influence of an unknown substance," Coppola said. The man was taken to the hospital and pronounced deceased.
The East Baton Rouge Parish Coroner will determine the identity of the man and his cause of death, Coppola said. The incident remains under investigation.
