Baton Rouge police on Friday arrested a couple accused of having sex underneath Interstate 110 on North 22nd Street after nine children told their mothers what they had seen.
Terry Brooks, 52, and Veronica Yvonne Pullet, 38, are accused of having sex in public at 1700 North 22nd Street, according to a Baton Rouge Police report.
Cpl. Don Coppola, a spokesman for Baton Rouge police, said the incident happened about 10:16 a.m.
When police arrived, Brooks ran off wearing only a black jacket, the report says. They found him lying on the ground underneath an I-110 exit ramp, the report says.
Three women nearby told detectives their children, ages two to 15, told them they had seen the couple having sex on top of the hill beneath the Interstate. The women told police they first thought the children had made up the story but walked outside with the children and saw for themselves.
Brooks looked at the children and, according to the mothers, told the children “it was too late for them to be outside” and continued having sex.
Both Brooks and Pullet denied that they did anything wrong, the report says.
Brooks, 3954 Iroquois St., and Pullet, 459 Apartment Court Drive, were each booked into East Baton Rouge Parish Prison on a count of sexual acts prohibited in public and nine counts of indecent behavior with a juvenile. Brooks was also arrested on a count of resisting an officer, the report says.
