Baton Rouge woman accused of beating live-in boyfriend with metal pipe _lowres

Aide Vasquez-Sanchez, 24

A woman was jailed Sunday after she attacked her live-in boyfriend with a metal pipe, authorities said.

Aide Vasquez-Sanchez, 24, faces counts of aggravated battery and domestic abuse battery after she struck her boyfriend in the abdomen and back, causing him to bleed, according to an East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Office report.

Vasquez-Sanchez began arguing with her partner after he returned home Sunday sometime before 5 p.m. and she began quizzing him about where he’d been, the report says. After not responding to her and then showering, the boyfriend told Vasquez-Sanchez he does not “have to answer to” her, according to the report.

Vasquez-Sanchez slapped him with an open hand, then retrieved a brass pipe from a bucket in their bedroom and began beating him with it, the report says.

Vasquez-Sanchez admitted to the beating, but said she did it because her partner had gotten on top of her and choked her, causing her to lose consciousness. Vasquez-Sanchez, however, had no marks or bruises consistent with having been attacked, the report says. She said she’d been arguing with her partner about money he owed her, according to the statement.

Vasquez-Sanchez, of 2575 Gardere Lane, was booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison and was assigned a bond of $13,500, according to jail records.
