A 56-year-old Baton Rouge man accused of stabbing and injuring another local man in July was arrested Tuesday, according to an arrest warrant.

Macarthur Spears, 1706 Terrance St., was booked with attempted second-degree murder Tuesday by the Baton Rouge Police Department, parish jail records show.

According to the warrant, Spears showed up at the Cedar Lake Drive home of the victim July 2 inviting him to fight.

Spears was armed with a "cutting object" and stabbed the victim with it on the left upper arm and the wrist causing major lacerations, the warrant says.

The victim, who told police he feared for his life, later picked Spears out of a photo lineup, the warrant says.
