A pedestrian was taken to the hospital with serious injuries early Sunday after an accused drunk driver struck him, police said.

Myles Labeth, 21, was driving west on Brightside Drive around 2:30 a.m. when he hit a person walking across the road near the intersection with Ward Street, according to a Baton Rouge Police Department report.

The pedestrian was unresponsive when an ambulance arrived to take him to the hospital, where he was treated for a large laceration on his head, the report says.

Labeth “admitted to having consumed several Bud Light beers while at Bayou Country Superfest and Fred’s bar,” an officer wrote in the report.

Labeth, 115 Jay St., Belle Chasse, was booked into Parish Prison on counts of first-offense DWI, reckless driving, motor vehicle inspection required and vehicular negligent injuring. He was released on $3,700 bail, online jail records show.
