A 27-year-old man was seriously injured in a shooting Sunday in the parking lot of the Highland Road Walmart, Baton Rouge Police said.

Investigators believe robbery may have been the motive, Sgt. Don Coppola Jr., police spokesperson, said.

The shooting happened at about 3:30 p.m. at the store at 5255 Highland Road. 

The victim was brought to the hospital and is expected to survive his injuries, Coppola said.
