Two people were found stabbed to death in a north Baton Rouge house early Saturday morning, Baton Rouge police spokesman Cpl. Don Coppola said.
Coppola said detectives arrived at 6258 Dutton Ave. about 7:45 a.m. after they received a call about the stabbings.
Johnson Armstrong III, 46, who lived in the Dutton Avenue residence, and Corey Steptore, 45, of Gonzales, were found dead in the house from stab wounds, Coppola said.
A man and woman at the scene who identified themselves as cousins of Steptore spoke briefly about him before they were called away.
The man said his slain relative was a women’s hairstylist and was a friend of Armstrong’s. Steptore, who is survived by a brother and a sister, was “fun, outgoing and liked to laugh,” the cousin said.
“This is a tragic way for a good-hearted person to go,” a woman, who also identified herself as Steptore’s cousin, said.
Steptore and Armstrong were out at a nightclub in downtown Baton Rouge prior to returning home, she said.
Coppola said there appeared to be no evidence of forced entry and there are no suspects or motives in the crime. The investigation is ongoing, he said.
