A man was killed in a shooting off Sherwood Forest Drive at an apartment complex Saturday, Baton Rouge Police Spokesman Don Coppola Jr. said.

Police have not yet publicly identified the victim.

First responders received a call around 2:19 p.m. reporting a shooting in the 2100 block of N. Sherwood Forest Drive, said EMS spokesman Nick McDonner.

Saturday afternoon police hovered near a black GMC Yukon Denali parked near one of the apartment buildings, a single bullet hole marking the window on the driver's side. Inside the car, a blue bandanna and a rosary hung suspended from the rear view mirror.

Evidence markers and a pool of blood could be seen on the pavement beside the vehicle.

This is a developing story. Check back for updates.
