Detectives are trying to identify the man who Tuesday night robbed a Highland Road gas station employee at gunpoint, Baton Rouge police said.

The man armed with a handgun walked into the Chevron station, 2915 Highland Road, about 10:15 p.m. and demanded money from the clerk, said Sgt. Don A. Coppola Jr., a police spokesman.

The robber, whose image was captured on surveillance video, obtained an undisclosed amount of money before fleeing on foot, Coppola said.

No one was injured in the robbery.

The robber is described as a dark-skinned black male, 6 feet 5 inches to 6 feet 7 inches tall, wearing a grey hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans with black and grey shoes.
