Police released photos Monday of a man suspected of robbing the Akasha Market in the Tigerland area on Jan. 20.

The robbery occurred around 10:30 p.m. when a man entered the business, at 1190 Bob Pettit, posing as a customer, then reached across the counter and took an undisclosed amount of money from the register, according to a Baton Rouge Police Department news release.

Along with the money, the robber grabbed the merchandise and fled the area in a white sedan, police said. The vehicle was last seen heading westbound on Bob Pettit.

There were no reported injuries.

The suspect is described as a black male, medium build wearing a cap along with a sweatshirt with the wording “American Hustler” on the front.
