A woman was arrested Saturday after she slapped, punched and mimicked strangling her 91-year-old mother on Saturday at a home in Baton Rouge, according to Baton Rouge police.
Elizabeth Brister, 65, was arrested on counts of cruelty to a person with infirmities, simple battery of a person with infirmities, false imprisonment and resisting an officer.
Brister arrived home extremely intoxicated and began throwing things and yelling at her mother, a witness told police, according to Brister's arrest report. The witness also reported that Brister grabbed the sides of the victim's face and screamed at her.
Police called to the home had to force entry into the residence after Brister refused to open the door and blocked the victim from doing so, the report says. Brister assumed a fighting stance and was stunned with a Taser device before being taken into custody, the report says.
Brister, 545 Highland Park Drive, was booked Sunday into Parish Prison.
