A man was killed in a shooting late Sunday on Henderson Avenue, police report.

Sgt. Don Coppola, a spokesperson for the Baton Rouge Police Department, said the shooting occurred in the 5700 block of Henderson Avenue, which is off Plank Road and Hollywood Street. It was reported around 11 p.m. Sunday.

The victim was identified as Freddie Thomas, 27. Police said Thomas was shot multiple times and died at the scene. 

Officials released few details about the circumstances of the shooting, but said that "large quantities of marijuana were found" inside the house where Thomas was shot.
