Police search for armed man who robbed Dollar General _lowres

Baton Rouge police are searching for the man in this picture in a Dollar General robbery Sunday night.

Baton Rouge police are searching for a masked man who walked into a Dollar General store on Sunday armed with a handgun and grabbed money from the register before running away from the store.

The robbery occurred shortly before 8:30 p.m. at the store on 1871 Staring Lane, Suite B, Cpl. Don Coppola Jr., a police spokesman, said.

The robber walked into the store, pointed a handgun at an employee and demanded cash from the register, Coppola said.

The robber is a medium to heavyset black man, 6 feet tall, who wore a white button-up shirt, blue work pants and a black ski mask, Coppola said.
