A two-vehicle crash Thursday afternoon sent four occupants of a minivan to the hospital with injuries police do not believe are life-threatening.
The minivan was westbound on Delcourt Avenue when it crossed Airline Highway and was hit by a northbound SUV, said Sgt. Don Coppola, a Baton Rouge Police spokesman.
The minivan partially overturned, and EMS took the vehicle’s occupants, including a child, to the hospital.
Coppola said investigators believe the driver of the minivan failed to yield and was cited for careless operation.
The driver of the SUV was not hospitalized, Coppola said.
The crash briefly closed the northbound lanes of Airline Highway between Old Hammond Highway and Delcourt, Baton Rouge Police spokesman Sgt. Don Coppola said, but all lanes were back open by 4:55 p.m.
