A Baker man accused of raping a girl several times over the past five years, starting at the age of 9, was arrested on Friday, police said.
Darius Banks, 21, raped the girl at least seven times, beginning in 2011 when she was 9 years old, a Baker Police Department report says. Banks admitted to the rapes soon after the victim disappeared from home briefly earlier this month, the report says.
Police interviewed the victim two days after she went missing, according to the report. Banks moved to Texas in 2011 shortly after the first incident, but returned to Baker in February 2014 and continued raping the girl, the report says.
Banks, 4511 Ashland Drive, Baker, was booked into Parish Prison on a count of aggravated first degree rape.
