Armed man gets away with handful of cash from Country Corner _lowres

Baton Rouge police are searching for a robber who on Monday night walked into the Country Corner on Perkins Road armed with a handgun, tied the worker’s hands with a shirt and grabbed a handful of money before escaping.

After grabbing the money at the store on 1923 Perkins Road shortly before 8 p.m., the robber ran away on foot headed east down Hundred Oaks Avenue, police spokesman Cpl. L’Jean McKneely said.

The robber is described as a slim, black man who is about 6 feet, 1 inch tall, McKneely said. The robber wore a dark hooded sweatshirt, basketball shorts and a red backpack.
