A work-release inmate who escaped last month was booked into prison again on Wednesday, according to arrest records.
Lynndrick Huey, 24, left a work-release van on April 1 while other work-release inmates were being picked up in Baton Rouge, according to the East Baton Rouge Sheriff's Office.
Huey had worked at a local business since entering the work-release program in October 2017. Before April, he had worked at the business “without any problems,” his arrest report says.
The East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Office said before his release, Huey had been imprisoned on drug counts stemming from a New Orleans arrest.
A work-release inmate escaped Sunday night and could be in the Baton Rouge or New Orleans areas, according to the East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Office.
Huey, whose address was listed as 1725 Burdette Street, New Orleans, was booked into East Baton Rouge Parish Prison on one count of simple escape.
