An LSU student was arrested Friday evening after he attacked another student in an attempt to take the victim's vehicle, arrest records say.

LSU Police were called to what appeared to be a fight in the parking lot of the East Campus Apartment complex shortly before 9 p.m. Friday.

The victim and his friend had been able to fight off the attacker, Freddie Peter Washington IV, 20, just before officers arrived, arrest records said.

The owner of the vehicle told officers that Washington ordered the handover of the car after first hitting the owner in the back with a brick, then pointing a pocket knife at the victim and the friend.

The two began to fight with Washington, knocking the knife out of Washington's hand, but not before one of the victims was cut on the face during the struggle. Washington also bit the same victim on the wrist, leaving a deep wound, the arrest report said.

Washington was booked into East Baton Rouge Parish Prison on counts of armed robbery, second-degree battery and aggravated battery.
