East Baton Rouge Parish sheriff’s deputies Monday arrested a 23-year-old man accused of stepping on his infant daughter and pressing a gun against his wife’s head.

Andrew Thrash was arguing with his wife at their home about 5 p.m. Sunday when he grabbed her by the throat and pushed her into a chair, according to the arrest report.

When the couple’s 8-month-old daughter began to cry, Thrash put his foot on the child’s head and pushed her over, the report says.

Thrash later retrieved his .40 caliber handgun and pressed it against his wife’s head, threatening her, then saying she was not worth the bullets, deputies said. He also repeatedly flicked his finger against the side of his daughter’s head to upset her.

Thrash threatened to kill them if his wife tried to leave with the child, the report says, detaining them for about eight hours.

Thrash, 5110 Buttercreek Lane, Baton Rouge, was booked into Parish Prison on counts of false imprisonment with a weapon, aggravated assault with a firearm, cruelty to a juvenile and domestic abuse with child endangerment.
