The driver of a three-wheeled vehicle died after a crash on Perkins Road late Monday afternoon.

Baton Rouge police spokesman Sgt. Don Coppola Jr. said the crash involved an Infiniti sedan and a Polaris slingshot, which is a three-wheeled vehicle similar to a motorcycle. It was struck while making a U-turn on Perkins Road, Coppola said.

The crash occurred around 3:45 p.m. in the 8000 block of Perkins near its intersection with Essen Lane.

Police said Brett Moton, 54, of 1034 Elysian Drive, was transported to the hospital, where he later died. He was unrestrained at the time of the crash, Coppola said.

The driver of the Infiniti was also transported with minor injuries.
