Justin Crochet

A Morgan City native working as a critical care paramedic in Port Allen was awarded the Acadian Ambulance Capital Region Paramedic of the Year title on Wednesday.

Justin Crochet, a graduate of Morgan City High School, has worked with Acadian for six years. His award covers all Acadian paramedics in West and East Baton Rouge, Pointe Coupee, Iberville, East Feliciana, Ascension and Livingston parishes. Crochet was also a finalist for the overall Louisiana and Mississippi award, according to an Acadian Ambulance Service press release.

Crochet started working as an Acadian emergency medical technician in Thibodaux. In addition to his current responsibilities as a critical care paramedic, he also teaches new hires and leads Advanced Cardiac Life Support lessons in Port Allen.

Operations Supervisor Justin Cox described Crochet as caring and professional when interacting with patients and the public, according to the press release.

Justin Alleman, operations supervisor, said in the release that Crochet works additional hours without complaint, always smiles and "looks at the positive side of things every day."
