Two sisters were arrested Friday after they got in an argument with their brother, leading to one of the women stabbing him, the East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Office reported.
Precious Maloid, 20, stabbed her brother’s left hand with a knife during an argument that began when their sister, Michaelnesha Maloid, 19, wouldn’t allow the victim to eat some of the food she was preparing because no paper plates were available, according to reports from the Sheriff’s Office.
“The victim stated that he spit in the food and stated that no one would eat if he couldn’t eat,” a deputy wrote in Michaelnesha Maloid’s affidavit of probable cause.
Michaelnesha and Precious Maloid then began punching and slapping the man, the affidavit says. Precious Maloid then grabbed a knife, deputies said, and “attempted to intervene on her sister’s behalf.”
Precious Maloid said she did not stab her brother, claiming “she only showed the victim the knife in (an) attempt to scare him,” according to her affidavit of probable cause. But Maloid would not answer a deputy’s questions about how the man got the stab wound on his hand, the affidavit says.
The incident happened at 9006 Orleans Drive, where the man and his two sisters all live, the reports say.
Michaelnesha Maloid was booked into Parish Prison on a count of domestic abuse battery, and remains there in lieu of $500 bail. Precious Maloid was booked on a count of aggravated battery with a knife and was released Saturday on $2,500 bail, according to online booking records.
